Man Dies from Injuries in Fire

The man Rochester firefighters rescued from a burning building last week, died from his injuries. Firefighters rescued Jeremy Sangster, 26, from the second floor of his Averill Avenue apartment building last Sunday.

Police responded to Wooden Street around 5:30 p.m. for the report of shots fired, a block away from Wilson Foundation Academy. They found an adult male lying on the sidewalk at that location.

Massachusetts police say a man wanted in connection with a recent assault in the Berkshires may be headed here to Rochester. Pittsfield police say Rodney Sparrow, 40, is considered armed and dangerous. Sparrow is originally from Rochester, but was living with his girlfriend in the Berkshires.
